If you've been one of Hillary's tough, hard working and passionate supporters, you should understand that whether or not Barack Obama wins the White House will have a lot to do with you. The Democrats are on the rise but only if we can keep it together and see beyond personal slights and insults, dissapointments and anger.
If you are one of the ones with the guts to take Hillary up on her request that you work as hard for Obama as you did for her, I have a simple request.
Keep your Hillary gear. If you put an Obama sticker on your car, don't put it over Hillary's sticker, put it next to it. If you go canvassing for Obama put a Hillary button on too. You certainly earned it. Maybe wear an Obama shirt with a Hillary button. I think the symbolism of this is obvious. The implied strength both of you and the party you represent will be told in that.
It should bring up some good conversations too.
How can Hillary Clinton drop out now and endorse Obama? After the way she has campaigned what is that going to look like? Won't the press open up with a barrage of her own words that seem to undermine Obama in comparison to John McCain? Won't they try to portray her endorsement as hollow and leave room for her supporters to interpret it as disengenuous?
Yes they will. And yes, she'll be able to handle it to our advantage if she wants.
